Our tutors travel to clients’ homes. We also have an excellent team of online tutors. We do not offer group tuition as we do not consider it an effective method for preparing pupils for increasingly competitive entrance exams.

All our tutors are fully qualified teachers, who have years of experience teaching children with a range of special needs. One of our tutors is able to use sign language and we are able to make provision for a range of learner needs, including autism, Irlen Syndrome and dyslexia, through use of coloured paper and other resources. The tutor will communicate with you directly about how best to support your child.

We believe that homework is a crucial part of the process. Our pupils are set comprehension, spelling, punctuation and grammar homework to complete every week, regular writing homework and maths homework every two weeks. We also strongly encourage our pupils to read something challenging every day.

Eleven Plus Tutors in Manchester takes safeguarding of children very seriously. We have a safeguarding officer and ensure all our tutors are fully checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Many parents purchase practice papers and ensure their children complete them. What we offer is a simulation of the real 11 plus examination conditions with other candidates present and strict rules. This allows your child to become used to the exam atmosphere which can often be daunting and stressful. Many parents comment that their children felt more confident about the real exam after practising in the mocks. We also ensure the papers are marked and feedback is provided within days.

One-to-one tuition sessions are held at pupils’ homes. In some cases, pupils and parents will travel to tutors’ homes.

We will carry out an initial assessment of your child’s level and give you honest feedback about it. Your child should be working at above expectations at school.

We cannot guarantee that your child will gain entry to a grammar school. However, we can significantly increase your child’s chances of success.

Each child is different, but generally we recommend beginning when your child is at the start of year 5. Some parents begin when their child is in year 3 or 4 to maximise their child’s chances of success.
